The President of the United States, Donald Trump, threatened this Wednesday to give “a brutal beating” to Iran after the “surprise attack” carried out during the night against U.S. assets and facilities in Jordan, where the troops only had “a few minutes” to intercept the missiles launched against the territory.

In a phone call with the Fox News television network, the New York magnate stated that he will “hit hard” Iran, which “will receive a beating” for what happened in Jordan, attacks that have been repeated in other parts of the region and always against U.S. targets in response to attacks carried out against Iranian territory.
When asked about the attacks against positions of Iranian militias in Iraq, which have so far left at least twenty dead, Trump pointed to possible coordination with the Iraqi government and described the Iraqi militias that support Iran as a “cancer for the world.”
However, despite Trump’s repeated warnings, he insisted that he will let his negotiating team continue holding talks with Iranian authorities.
Tehran, for its part, stated this week that it would stop attacks against U.S. interests and facilities in the area as long as Washington maintains the suspension of bombings.
