The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that 12 regions of the country were attacked by the Russian Army, during a press conference alongside his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vucic, as part of his first visit to Serbia.

“Almost daily, every night, now in the fifth year of the war, Ukraine is forced to persevere and endure this,” said the Ukrainian leader.
Zelensky stated that much of the Russian attacks are aimed at facilities essential for the life of the civilian population.
“We do not have a single power plant that has not been attacked. Railway stations, hospitals, universities, public companies,” he said.
In this context, the Ukrainian president asked his Western allies for greater financial support, more anti-ballistic capabilities, and new sanctions aimed at preventing Russia from continuing to produce missiles.
During his visit, Zelensky also thanked Vucic for the humanitarian aid provided by Serbia to Ukraine and for the support of the country’s territorial integrity.
Both countries signed in Belgrade a memorandum of understanding on agriculture and another on cooperation in animal health and food safety.

Vucic also highlighted the growth of trade between the two countries.
“Last year, the figure was around 450 million US dollars. Just in the first six months of this year, the figure is already significantly higher: 321 million dollars,” he said.
The Serbian leader indicated that the talks held with Zelensky focused on bilateral, commercial matters and on the path of both countries towards the European Union.
The visit comes a few weeks after a summit between Ukraine and the Balkan countries held in Kiev, where Vucic was the only leader who did not sign the final joint declaration.
Asked during the day, the Serbian president also rejected reports about alleged exports of military material and ammunition from Serbia to Ukraine.
Serbia, a country close to Russia, has not joined the European sanctions against Moscow for the invasion of Ukraine.
