The new president of Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella, presided this Saturday over the swearing-in of the members of his cabinet, with which he seeks to implement as soon as possible his government program called “Patria Milagro”.

The event was held in the Pichincha Hall in Cali, where the president formalized the appointment of the ministers who will make up his Executive, in an event that marks the beginning of his management stage before the country.
The new council will be made up of Tomás Ponce, as Minister of Foreign Affairs; Omar Bolaño, in charge of Finance; Miguel Gómez, in Defense; Alfonso Cárdenas, in Justice; Jorge Eduardo Moreno, in Interior, and Indalecio Dangond, in Agriculture.
These appointments are joined by Ana María Vesga, as Minister of Health; Natalia López, in Labor; Mauricio Gómez, in charge of Commerce, Industry and Tourism; Víctor Montes, as Minister of Education; María Mohemi, in Energy, and Fabio Arango, responsible for Mines.
The De la Espriella government team is completed by Elsa Neira, in Transport; Andrés Beltrán, in Housing, City and Territory; Alejandra Falla, in Information and Communication Technologies; Paola Holguín, in Cultures, Arts and Knowledge; Julienne Zárate, as Minister of Sports, and Claudia Benavides, in charge of Science, Technology and Innovation.

During the event, the head of state defended the need for his cabinet to start working from day one to develop the commitments made and offer concrete results to the Colombian population.
Together with the ministerial cabinet, De la Espriella also appointed Andrés Barreto as legal secretary of the Presidency, Gonzalo Gómez as chief of Staff, Valeria Latsurie as Regional Manager and María Fernanda Sandoval as Director of Communications and Press.
The swearing-in ceremony marks the formal start of the team responsible for executing the main lines of the so-called “Patria Milagro”, the program around which the Colombian president intends to guide his mandate.
