At least three people were injured this Sunday in a shooting in Denmark that, according to local police, is believed to be related to a settling of scores among criminals.
The incident occurred in the city of Holbaek, in the northwest of the island of Zealand, the main one in the country – located about 60 kilometers from Copenhagen – and left three injured, now out of danger, and two detained, although a third accomplice is being sought.
The incident was reported around 3:45 p.m. local time (9:45 a.m. Chile time) and shortly after the police announced in a statement that they were present in several locations in Holbaek, following “a shooting in which several people were injured.”
“At the moment, we cannot provide more information about their condition. The police presume that it is a settling of scores within the criminal sphere,” the text added.
According to information at that time, the perpetrators were seen leaving the scene in a white car. The officers also asked citizens with information to contact them.

A few hours later it was revealed that a 23-year-old young man had been arrested for attempted murder and another 22-year-old for complicity in the act. Both surrendered to the police during Sunday night.
“We are still looking for a person we suspect was involved in the shooting. We can only encourage him to surrender,” emphasized police sub-inspector Lars Krogsgaard in statements collected by the newspaper Jyllands-Posten.
For her part, the mayor of the town, Christina Krzyrosiak Hansen, reaffirmed that, according to the hypotheses considered by the police forces, it could be a “confrontation between criminal gangs.”
“I have no words to express how outraged I feel that hardened criminals put the safety of others at risk,” added the mayor in a message posted on social media, in which she also assured that she is following the case very closely.
