The authorities of Zaporizhzhia reported this Tuesday the death of at least six people during the attacks launched by the Russian Armed Forces last night on the province, injuring another 19.

“The Russians launched a massive combined missile and guided bomb attack against the regional capital. Four apartment buildings and other non-residential buildings were damaged,” denounced the provincial governor, Ivan Fedorov, in a message on his social networks.
The few areas of the Zaporizhzhia province that have not yet been occupied by Moscow have been targeted in the last 24 hours by a new large-scale offensive by Russian forces that have carried out 938 attacks on 58 localities, including the eponymous capital, and other small settlements.
Fedorov listed at least a dozen missile attacks, as well as artillery and the use of 650 drones in the last 24 hours, including those from last night, which have already recorded the first six fatalities.
For his part, the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the city of Zaporizhzhia was hit by North Korean ballistic missiles. “A brutal attack, designed to cause maximum damage to civilian infrastructure,” he lamented, also remembering the dead and injured from this latest attack.

“Every step Russia takes — increasing ballistic weapon production, involving North Korean assets, preparing for mobilization — shows that Moscow is not preparing for peace, but for escalation,” warned the Ukrainian president in a message on his social networks.
In that sense, he again stressed to his partners the need to impose new sanctions against companies that keep the Russian arms industry alive, as well as to continue supporting Ukraine’s air defense. “All this is necessary for peace to have a chance,” he said.
Likewise, Zelensky denounced that “drone terror persists daily” in other parts of the country, including Kherson, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, and the capital, Kyiv, targeted tonight as it still recovers from last week’s deadly wave of attacks.
The city of Zaporizhzhia is relatively close to the southern front line, so it is usually a frequent target of Russian air attacks, which have controlled nearly 70% of the territory of this province since the early stages of the invasion, back in February 2022.
