The president of Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella, reported that he had a phone conversation with the businessman Jaime Gilinski and his wife, Raquel, who informed him of their decision to make a donation of $150 billion to support the reconstruction of hospitals and schools in Cali, amid the emergency affecting the country.

The announcement was made by the president through his social networks, where he highlighted the contribution of the business family and publicly thanked both for the decision to allocate resources to the recovery of essential infrastructure.
“In the most difficult moments, the best citizens are known,” De la Espriella said referring to the donation.
According to the President, the $150 billion will be allocated to the recovery of educational and health infrastructure in Cali, with the aim of contributing to the reconstruction of spaces considered essential for the communities affected by the emergency.

So far, the president has not provided details regarding which hospitals and educational establishments will benefit nor specified the mechanism through which the donation will be executed.
