“No one has given the Islamic Republic of Iran a better chance to reach an agreement than I have. Tragically, for them, they have not taken advantage of it. Therefore, today I announce the most devastating economic operation ever undertaken against any country. It will be an unprecedented economic war and isolation,” declared the Republican leader on social media.

He then added in his post on Truth Social: “Their navy has disappeared, their air force is destroyed, their military factories are now rubble, their currency is worthless, and their country hangs by a thread.”

In the same message, Trump also announced that “any country that allows its financial institutions, companies, airports, or government entities to provide any kind of aid to Iran will face tremendous economic consequences”.

“Oil smuggling, exchange lines, cash transfers, currency exchanges, ship registries, front companies: all of this must end now. They know who they are,” he said, dubbing the announcement as an “economic D-Day”, referring to the Normandy landing in World War II, a key point in Allied operations against the Nazi occupation in Western Europe.

Next, and changing the intimidating tone of the previous lines, the North American head of state called for the collaboration of other countries: “We need all our allies to join the United States to isolate and defeat the Iranian threat.”

“These maniacs are against the ropes, and these historic measures will weaken them and prevent them from spreading terror worldwide”, he stated, before concluding by declaring that “Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.”
