At least five people died and another 23 were injured in bombings carried out by the Russian Armed Forces against the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, during the night of Wednesday and the early hours of Thursday local time.

This was indicated by the city government of Kyiv in a message on social media in which it warned of damage in “twelve places in the districts of Darnytskyi, Sviatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi”.
“Unfortunately, 5 people have lost their lives at the hands of the enemy. Another 23 people have been injured”, the authority reported.
In its publication, it also disclosed “damage to residential buildings, a health center and an educational center,” as well as “fires in warehouses along an important area.”
“Emergency services are working to deal with the consequences”, the government said, which still warned of a “threat of cruise missiles” over the capital, minutes after beginning to report the casualty toll.

The Ukrainian Air Force warned about the launch of ballistic missiles towards Kyiv while the attack was underway, as well as Russian Zircon missiles from the Russian region of Kursk heading towards the city.
The latest offensive on the capital comes at a time when Ukraine suffers from a chronic shortage of interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense systems, the only system capable of intercepting ballistic missiles.
As reported by The Kyiv Independent newspaper, Russia has taken advantage of this situation in recent weeks by drastically increasing the number of missiles used in massive attacks.
