“We are in the Gaza Strip with the Chief of Staff, the Commander-in-Chief, and our heroic soldiers. We control this area,” he said in a video posted on his social media in which, dressed as a soldier, he claims to be inside the Strip.
Netanyahu emphasized that Israel controls much of the Gaza territory. “We will not withdraw. We will stay on this line. We control 60% of the Strip, and there is still much to do because we are eliminating the terrorists who threaten us,” he stated.
In this way, he cited the capture of Muein al Arabid, head of the internal security apparatus of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) near his home in the Gaza Strip. “We are doing everything to achieve our goal: to disarm Hamas of its weapons and demilitarize Gaza,” he stressed.
He thus emphasized that the enclave “will no longer be a threat to Israel.” “This goal has largely been achieved, but there is work to be done and we will complete it,” he assured in the mentioned recording.
According to his office, the Israeli Prime Minister visited an Israel Defense Forces post near the Yellow Line in the Gaza Strip.
In this area, he received a report from commanders on the ground about operational missions in the sector and about the effort to eliminate threats and maintain the security of the forces and settlements.
