At least three people, one of them a child, died and another was injured this Saturday following a Russian attack on the Ukrainian city of Chuguev, in the Kharkiv region – in the northwest of the country -, despite the temporary ceasefire in Kiev ordered by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.

A decision made by the Kremlin despite the visit of the White House envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to the Ukrainian capital, and after the government of Volodymyr Zelensky informed Moscow that Ukraine would suspend its attacks on Russian territory, due to the arrival in Moscow of the U.S. mission to resume peace talks.
Shortly after the attack on Chuguev, its mayor, Halyna Minaeva, confirmed the offensive on social media, describing it as “an indescribable tragedy in our community”.
“Less than half an hour ago, the enemy launched a drone attack in the very center of Chuguev. A child has died and a woman was seriously injured. It is being checked if there are more victims,” she said.

She added that “damage has been caused to private homes. Emergency services are at the scene”.
Later, local authorities confirmed that three people – an 11-year-old child, a 19-year-old young woman, and a 45-year-old man – died as a result of the airstrike attributed to the Russian Army, and for now the possibility of more fatalities cannot be ruled out.
“A single-family home, an outbuilding, and a garage have been destroyed. A fire is raging in the area of the enemy attack. All emergency services are working at full capacity to mitigate the consequences of the enemy’s arrival,” said shortly after the governor of Kharkiv, Oleg Sinegubov, on social media.
