An Amazon cargo plane crashed in the United States, at Miami International Airport (MIA), in Florida. International media report that the accident left five dead and impacted several vehicles along the way.
The flight, which came from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, Puerto Rico, overshot the runway. According to CNN, five deaths have been recorded so far.
According to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the events occurred around 2:00 p.m. (local time), and the crashed aircraft would be a Boeing 767.
For his part, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy confirmed that it is an Amazon cargo plane.

Meanwhile, the affected airport stated that the aircraft was disabled on the northeast side of its premises. “All MIA runways and taxiways are currently closed, and a total suspension of ground operations is in effect. Passengers with flights scheduled for today should check directly with their airline for updates before heading to the airport,” they indicated.
The Miami-Dade fire rescue teams stated that over 60 of their units are at the scene, where the plane “hit multiple vehicles.”
They also noted that they found the Boeing 767 “on fire as a result of the crash, with heavy fire and visible smoke. Firefighters are working to extinguish the fire and assess the patients.”
