The authorities of Nepal have raised on Wednesday to nearly 1,370 the dead due to the devastating floods recorded on August 26 in the north of the country, at a point located on the border with China, while stating that more than 5,100 people remain missing, including about 590 foreigners.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has indicated in its latest bulletin, published through social networks, that to date 1,367 bodies have been recovered, including 363 in Chitwan, 226 in East Nawalparasi, and 222 in West Nawalparasi.
Likewise, it has stated that 5,132 people remain missing, at a time when hopes of finding survivors continue to diminish due to the time that has passed since the tragedy, while pointing out that 13,646 people have been rescued in the areas affected by the flood.
To the figures offered by Nepal are added at least 43 dead and around 550 missing in Chinese territory due to the tragedy, as stated by the authorities of the Asian giant in their latest report, as well as three bodies recovered in India.
