The Federal Police of Brazil is investigating Senator and presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro in the “Dark Horse” case regarding the possible irregular financing of a biographical film based on the life of former president Jair Bolsonaro, information that came to light shortly after the Supreme Federal Court (STF) lifted the secrecy of the “Banco Master” case file, a plot linked to former banker Daniel Vorcaro and related to the film.

Flávio, from the Liberal Party (PL), appears on the list of people under investigation following a procedure authorized in July by STF judge André Mendonça, information that became known this Friday after the secrecy of the case file was lifted at the request of the president of the highest Brazilian court, Edson Fachin, according to O Globo.
Specifically, the police authorities are investigating the presidential candidate for alleged money laundering, tax evasion, corruption, and other possible crimes allegedly committed by the senator, who requested funds to finance the production of the film from the former banker, accused of fraud in the “Banco Master” case.
The money would have been transferred to a fund in the United States managed by a lawyer close to former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL), Flávio’s brother, who was sentenced to more than four years in prison for coercion of justice due to his attempts to pressure judges in the legal proceedings against his father.
Authorities suspect that part of those funds were diverted abroad to finance Eduardo’s stay and expenses, who is currently in the United States. The presidential candidate did admit to having contacted Vorcaro, although he denied that those funds come from public money.
