Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced this Tuesday a new wave of Russian attacks with 145 drones and missiles against various points in the country, leaving at least ten people injured, while calling on the European Union to speed up work on adopting more sanctions against Moscow.

<b“Last night, the Russians launched 135 drones and ten missiles of various types, most of them ballistic, against our cities and communities. Seven people were injured in the Kharkiv region, including a minor,” he explained in a message on social media in which he also detailed Russian attacks against the Chernihiv region that reportedly left three injured after bombings of “a residential building and power grid facilities.”
In this way, he echoed the assessment of the Ukrainian Air Force, which confirmed that most of the attacks were repelled by Ukrainian air defenses, although one ballistic missile and 25 drones caused damage in at least ten locations in the country.
Regarding the situation in the Kyiv region, the Ukrainian leader reported damage at 16 points from missile attacks, including a school and a company. “Critical infrastructure was also attacked in the Dnipro, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, and Odesa regions,” he reported about another new night of massive Russian attacks.
In this context, he called on the EU to increase pressure on Russia. “We cannot keep wasting time and the EU’s 21st sanctions package must be approved this week,” he insisted, on measures that remain under debate within the 27 member states.
According to Zelensky, every day that sanctions are delayed “gives Russia more time to prepare for them.” “The supply of all components – chips, microchips, and dual-use goods – in short, everything Russia uses to prolong the war and attack the population must be stopped,” he argued.
These statements come after Ukraine joined a coalition of ten European countries for an anti-missile coalition, an initiative Zelensky framed as a measure that can “truly strengthen” the security of the Ukrainian population. “We must move forward together. Every company and every country must be true defenders of life,” he emphasized.
On the other hand, the Russian Armed Forces framed this offensive as attacks with “long-range high-precision weapons, both aerial and ground-based, and unmanned aerial vehicles,” against Ukrainian military targets.
Specifically, it indicated that it attacked military industry companies in Kyiv and port facilities at the Yuzhny port in the Odesa region, “used for unloading and storing fuel and lubricants intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
