Ayatollah Mojtaba Jamenei proclaims Iran's victory over the United States and Israel

Ayatollah Mojtaba Jamenei issued an unexpected proclamation of Iran’s victory in the war with the United States and Israel, stating that “the malicious enemy has been defeated in the confrontation with the Armed Forces” of the Islamic Republic.

In a statement released Thursday by the Fars news agency, Jamenei said: “I want to tell the dear Iranian nation that the malicious enemy, defeated in its confrontation with its brave sons in the Armed Forces, is now experiencing deep and significant humiliation, both on the military battlefield and in the public arena, and has resorted to deception.”

“The system of domination, which almost 80 years ago created a garrison called Israel, does not accept the existence of a strong and independent Iran, endowed with various advantages, on the eastern border of the false and fictitious geography of ‘Greater Israel’, east of the Euphrates,” the ayatollah’s statement warned.

In his statement, Jamenei affirmed that “the enemy (…) concentrated its efforts, in a hybrid war, on two areas: the resilience of the people and the creation of errors in the calculations of the country’s officials.” “After Iran succeeded in repelling the enemy, defeated on the battlefield, it now seeks to undermine the resilience of the Iranian people and sow discord,” he warned Iranians.

“Everyone must neutralize the enemy’s sinister plans with firmness, vigilance, preserving unity and cohesion, maintaining mutual trust, and avoiding echoing the enemy’s narrative,” he noted.

Jamenei also urged Iranian officials to “support these principles” and warned them that “any action that leads to public pessimism or discouragement among the population must be considered a form of aid to the enemy, aid against this country and its people.”

According to Euronews, this unexpected statement from Jamenei could indicate that a peace agreement is approaching, for which he seems to be preparing the Iranian nation, while calling for its unity.

In that regard, US President Donald Trump assured this Wednesday that the agreement being negotiated by Washington and Tehran could be finalized “over the weekend.”

Trump said in an interview on Tuesday that the new ayatollah, 56, was participating in negotiations with the United States and that both “were getting along quite well.” “I haven’t had the privilege of meeting him yet,” he told the New York Post.

“He’s involved, absolutely. Yes, I think they have a lot of respect for him,” Trump noted on the “Pod Force One” podcast. “They say he’s the one who gives his approval, because that’s how it’s been for a very, very long time, his father and then him, I guess it’s a succession. But it seems we’re getting along quite well.”

The Republican leader added that he was looking forward to meeting the young Jamenei, awaiting the outcome of the ongoing talks. “Yes, I would like to meet him. I would love to meet everyone. I would like to meet him and we probably will at some point, depending on how everything ends up.”

Jamenei has not appeared in public since the war began. US media have reported, citing several senior Iranian officials, that he was seriously injured in the bombings, underwent several surgeries, and has difficulty speaking due to severe burns.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that he was likely disfigured. Iran has not confirmed this information. Since taking office, he has only communicated through written statements.
