The alleged perpetrator of the mass run-over at the LGBTQ+ Pride march in the German capital was shot dead by Berlin Police during a confrontation on Sunday in a city suburb.

Abdul B was the main suspect in the run-over that left one dead and at least 29 injured on the night of July 25, in the vicinity of Tiergarten Park, near the Brandenburg Gate, during the event.
According to authorities, the 21-year-old man was located at 6:00 p.m. in a complex of urban gardens in the Berlin district of Spandau, where he lunged with a weapon at members of the city’s special police unit, known as SEK, which led officers to open fire.
Despite resuscitation attempts by emergency teams, the man died at the scene.
The Berlin Police and Public Prosecutor’s Office had issued a public search notice and openly disseminated the suspect’s photograph to locate him this Sunday.
Likewise, the German Interior Minister, Alexander Dobrindt, specified that the search for the suspect had been extended to the country’s borders, airports, and train stations; and accused the attack of being an “Islamist terrorist attack.”
