According to the Iranian source, Tehran’s stance remains to respond to every attack received, so if Washington maintains the pause, Iranian operations will also cease. However, the official warned that there is skepticism within the Iranian government regarding the intentions of the United States and the possibility of reaching a lasting agreement.
The suspension of US bombings occurred on Friday, ending 13 consecutive nights of attacks against Iranian targets. According to Reuters, the decision was driven by Trump with the aim of giving an opportunity for diplomatic talks, amidst concerns expressed by White House and Pentagon advisors about the risks of prolonging the offensive.

In parallel, the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, confirmed that the Trump administration seeks to give “a little space” to negotiations and reiterated that the president continues to prioritize a diplomatic solution, although he warned that Washington will respond if Iran resumes hostilities.
The pause in clashes has fueled expectations of an eventual return to negotiations to reduce tension around the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil and gas trade.
