The Ukrainian leader already spoke last Wednesday with the president’s special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, about how to intensify diplomatic channels and bring peace closer, at a time when it is still unknown when Moscow and Kiev will sit down to negotiate again after the pause caused by the war in Iran.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio then met with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in Manila, where he was open to exploring “new ideas” to unblock negotiations between the parties.
