Thus, he stated that moving forward with the offensive is the “president’s decision” and expressed his hope that Iran will ultimately want to reach an agreement with him to end the attacks and “end the nuclear program.” “Anything that leads to the end of their nuclear program is our goal,” he added.
“That is our common goal; we have discussed it,” he asserted in statements to ABC News. “If there is enough economic and diplomatic pressure on Iran to accept an agreement, let them try,” Netanyahu insisted.
When asked about a possible change of government in Iran as a result of the offensive launched jointly by the two countries in February, he emphasized that his goal “is to ensure that the Iranian regime does not possess nuclear weapons.”
In this regard, he stated that Trump is the “main partner” of the alliance and that he himself is only a “secondary partner,” while also stating that before the start of that military campaign, “he believed Iran could close the Strait of Hormuz but would have to seriously consider the possible consequences.”
