The president of Peru, Keiko Fujimori, has announced that in the “coming days” Armed Forces personnel will be deployed on the streets to reinforce the control and security work of the Police, at a time when the country is experiencing a serious security crisis.

“In the coming days, the Armed Forces will be on the streets and also in the transportation system,” she announced in a video posted in recent hours on her social networks, in line with the promises she made during the campaign that, this time, has brought her to the presidency after three failed attempts.
Likewise, she has stated that the military will also be deployed in the country’s penitentiary centers to reinforce security, after an agreement recently reached in a cabinet meeting.

Fujimori has reaffirmed that the fight against crime and citizen insecurity will be one of the priority axes of her Government. Likewise, she has committed to the reconstruction of the regions of the Junín department affected by the mid-July earthquake and the management of the El Niño phenomenon.
