Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Russia plans a new military mobilization of “several hundred thousand” people after the parliamentary elections on September 20, which he described as “staged,” especially after the disqualification of the only party opposing the war.

Zelensky explained based on Intelligence reports that the plan of his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, “is not particularly complicated” and that he only “wants to make people believe” that the population supports the war, “when in reality all the parties still allowed oppose peace.”
“After these supposed elections, he plans an additional rapid mobilization of several hundred thousand Russians by the end of the year, plus the same amount for the following year. This adds to the recruitment they are trying to carry out through contracts,” warned the Ukrainian president on social media.

Zelensky has assured that Ukrainian authorities are already working on concrete measures to “make these plans as difficult as possible.”
The Russian Supreme Court banned Yabloko, a political force that has publicly opposed the war, from participating in these State Duma elections, the lower house of the Assembly, following a lawsuit filed by another party over alleged irregular financing.
