United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio highlighted this Monday the “enduring cooperation” between Washington and Kiev and reiterated the country’s “commitment” to “the sovereignty” of Ukraine and its work to achieve a “negotiated agreement” to end the Russian invasion, unleashed in February 2022.
Rubio, who congratulated the Ukrainian population on the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence, emphasized that “the United States reaffirms the enduring cooperation” between both countries, according to a statement published by the U.S. Department of State.
“The United States is committed to the sovereignty of Ukraine and continues working to support a negotiated solution to the war between Russia and Ukraine that establishes a lasting and stable peace,” Rubio explained, praising “the bravery, innovation, and resilience” of Ukrainians.”

Thus, he stressed that, in this context, Washington “reaffirms its firm commitment to strengthen economic and security ties and to forge a path toward peace and prosperity for both nations.”
