What really happens when the earth shakes? What moves: the ground we live on, our bodies, or also our memories? “Sismo” proposes a journey to the depths of the planet and, at the same time, to those intimate layers of our memory that are activated in the face of such a present phenomenon.
The proposal is a multidisciplinary creation by the Artistic Collective Circo Virtual in co-production with GAM that explores seismic movements from a material, philosophical, and playful perspective through contemporary circus.
Body, sound, light, and technology intertwine to build a scenic and sensory experience that invites reflection on our relationship with the earth and with ourselves.
On stage, an explorer embarks on the quest to understand earthquakes and the different layers that make up the Earth. On his journey, he encounters a landscape that transforms him and leads him to question where the movement truly occurs: outside or inside the body? In the present or in memory?
Through juggling with balls, the protagonist traces in the air the invisible waves of earth energy, generating a dialogue between body and space. Each bounce meets the music of a live drum set and light plays, shaping a technological and sensory atmosphere that seems to emerge from a particular scientific laboratory.

“It is a metaphorical and philosophical journey to entertain us and think about our vibration. We want it to be a cross-generational work that can be enjoyed by different generations,” previews Juan Pablo Corvalán, playwright, director, and performer of this adventure.
Through the manipulation of objects, theater, movement, music, and lighting, “Sismo” turns a natural event that often causes fear into an experience of connection, discovery, and beauty.
“Thinking about how we inhabit our planet, where we come from, and why we are the way we are is fundamental. In this sense, Sismo is also a way to ask ourselves about our layers and the various things that make us vibrate,” explains Corvalán.
