The former Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro made a new post through his social media in which he thanked the expressions of support he has received.

Maduro is currently imprisoned at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, in New York City, after being captured along with his wife, Cilia Flores, by the United States military forces in January of this year.
On U.S. soil, both face trial for four charges of conspiracy for narcoterrorism and conspiracy to import cocaine into the United States. The trial against the ousted president is expected to begin on June 1, 2027.
In this context, this Sunday Maduro shared two photographs of himself inside the New York jail. In them, he is seen wearing joggins and making the peace sign. The recordings would be from June 25, 2026.
“A small gift of love and hope. I send these photos as a small gift to all my grandchildren, to the boys and girls, and to all the noble people who love us,” the post he made on the social network X begins by saying.

“I want you to know that we are firm, with hearts full of your love, that love that reaches us transformed into prayer, into permanent action, into solidarity and true support. Infinite thanks for every word, for every gesture, for every blessing. Enjoy this small gift with joy and hope. Cilia and I embrace you forever, with our souls set on you and with faith intact in God,” continues the former president.
To conclude, quoting the New Testament: “As the apostle Paul says: ‘But in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us’ (Rom 8:37). We will remain strong, serene, and confident: God is with us. God will provide. Venezuela will be reborn. Blessings.”
