GTA 6: Sony unveils two PS5 DualSense controllers inspired by Vice City

The universe of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) begins to make the leap from the screen to the hardware. During its most recent State of Play, Sony presented two new limited edition DualSense controllers for PS5, designed in collaboration with Rockstar Games and inspired by the aesthetic of Vice City.

The collection consists of the DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and the DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition.

Both models aim to transfer the visual identity of the city that will be one of the main settings of GTA 6 to the controller: sun-drenched beaches, pastel skies, palm trees, and a nightlife dominated by neon lights.

To achieve this effect, the controllers incorporate a glossy finish that changes tone depending on the light, combining colors associated with Vice City’s sunsets with the glow of its neon signs.

They also include palm tree details molded directly onto the surface of the controller and official graphic elements from Grand Theft Auto VI.

Although they share much of their design, Sony used each version to represent two different moments of Vice City.

The DualSense GTA 6 White Limited Edition is inspired by the brighter side of the city. Its design takes references from white sandy beaches, pastel skies, and the coastal aesthetic that Rockstar Games has shown in the game previews.

The DualSense GTA 6 Black Limited Edition, on the other hand, represents Vice City’s nightlife, with an aesthetic closer to its illuminated streets, clubs, and characteristic neon signs.

The distribution will also be different. The white version will be available in limited quantities through PlayStation Direct and participating retailers in various markets, while the black edition will have more restricted availability and will be exclusive to PlayStation Direct in countries where the platform operates, as well as selected retailers in other regions.

The design will not be the only connection between the controller and Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated video game.

Sony confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will take advantage of the DualSense’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Haptic feedback will allow the controller’s vibrations to respond dynamically to different actions and situations in the game, while the adaptive triggers will modify their resistance depending on what Jason and Lucia are doing on screen.

The company thus aims for the DualSense’s signature features to be part of the experience of exploring Vice City and the state of Leonida.

Pre-orders for the new controllers will begin on September 10, 2026 in selected markets.

The launch is scheduled for November 19, 2026, the same day Grand Theft Auto VI will officially arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The recommended price will be US$84.99 in the United States and 84.99 euros in Europe.
