With more than a decade of experience, Entremares begins a new stage with the release of “Metamorphosis”, an album that expands the boundaries of their proposal and seeks to connect their folkloric identity with a more contemporary and transversal sound. Originating from Talcahuano, the group has built a career marked by the renewal of the cueca and a growing reach to new audiences, achieving milestones such as the first place on Spotify Chile’s Top 50 with “A Tu Lado.” “Metamorphosis” is the first album by Entremares with Warner Music Chile and ADA Music Chile.
“Metamorphosis” represents a significant change from what the public had heard before from Entremares. Recorded and worked on over several months, the album incorporates more elaborate arrangements, a more pop approach, and, for the first time in the group’s history, electric guitar. Without abandoning their roots, the band defines this new path under the concept of “Chilean Regional”, seeking a balance point between tradition and a sound capable of dialoguing with contemporary Latin American music. “There is a search for balance between our more traditional sound and this new, more pop-oriented Entremares,” explains Mauro Stuardo, one of the group’s composers.
The album also represents a recovery of musical interests that were present at the beginnings of Entremares. This is the case of “Sólo Yo”, a song that incorporates cumbia into the repertoire of this new stage and features the participation of La Combo Tortuga, one of the most recognized groups in the genre in Chile. The collaboration was born during the Festival del Huaso de Olmué, from the desire to explore again a style that the group had performed during their early years. “We wanted to make a cumbia again, like in our beginnings. We did it with the spirit of reopening our repertoire,” comments Stuardo.
Another notable collaboration on “Metamorphosis” is “Temporales de Olvido”, with Andrés de León, a collaboration that crosses the experience of one of the most recognized names in Chilean ballad and pop with the cueca identity of Entremares. For Stuardo, the process meant an important creative challenge: “It was a dream to work with Andrés de León. It was a big leap to work with someone with so much experience and so perfectionist.” The musician also recalls that adapting his interpretation to the phrasing of a cueca was quite a challenge for De León, creating an experience that the band defines as especially enriching.

Musically, the new album also draws on references from current Latin American popular music. Entremares pays special attention to the melodic and lyrical work of Mexican artists like Carín León and Christian Nodal, while developing songs conceived to maintain the romantic component that has characterized the group. “This new album comes with renewed energy. People were used to knowing a more folkloric facet, but this time we created a much more dynamic album: each song has its soul, a special magic,” says Stuardo.
With “Metamorphosis”, Entremares seeks to expand the reach of a career that has already demonstrated the ability to bring their proposal to new generations. Now the plan goes beyond Chile: “Our great goal is to internationalize our career: we want to open up to other musical styles beyond folklore and we would like to work on collaborations with international artists.” Thus, the album not only represents an evolution in the sound of Entremares, but also the starting point of a new stage in which the group bets on taking their Chilean identity to new territories, audiences, and creative possibilities.
