Brazil: Lula will go to the UN to tell Trump to "stay out" of his country's elections

Brazilian President, leftist Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will give a speech next Tuesday at the United Nations forum in New York, where he may cross paths with U.S. President Donald Trump, an ally of his rival and right-wing candidate Flávio Bolsonaro.

Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro are in a technical tie in the polls for a likely second round on October 25.

“I am going to the UN meeting to have a talk with Trump and tell him: don’t interfere in Brazil’s elections,” said the president during a campaign event in Ceilândia, a working-class neighborhood of the capital Brasília.
