At least one dead and one injured after recent Ukrainian drone attacks in Russia

At least one civilian died and another was injured this Friday after a series of drone attacks by Ukraine in the Belgorod region, in southwestern Russia, and on the Ukrainian border, local emergency services confirmed.

The most serious incident occurred in the Russian city of Shebekino, where a drone directly hit a car driving on the road, causing the instant death of its driver “due to the severity of the injuries sustained”.

In the village of Otradnoye, located in the Belgorod district, another man had to receive emergency medical assistance after suffering multiple shrapnel injuries to his back, following the detonation of an unmanned aerial vehicle.

Local authorities asked the population of border municipalities to exercise extreme caution due to the persistent incursion of drones into the province’s airspace.

In this way, Ukraine responded to the latest attacks perpetrated by Russia in which six people died in the Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk provinces, amidst the war unleashed in February 2022 after the invasion order signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

For his part, the head of the Kyiv Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnik, detailed on social media that at least four people died as a result of a Russian drone offensive against a “food factory,” dedicated to the production of baby food in the town of Brovary.
