The government of Pakistan called on the United States and Iran to stop the escalation of violence and resume technical talks, following recent attacks amid tensions in the Gulf.

The spokesperson for the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tahir Andrabi, stated that Islamabad will continue encouraging the parties to end the violence and return to dialogue.
“Pakistan will continue encouraging all parties to end the violence and resume talks at the technical level,” the spokesperson said, according to DW.
The call comes at a time of high regional tension, marked by confrontations between Washington and Tehran, as well as attacks around the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic route for global energy trade.
Pakistan has tried to maintain a mediator role in the crisis, along with Qatar, after participating in diplomatic efforts aimed at opening communication channels between the two countries.
From Islamabad, they warned that the implementation of previously reached understandings faces difficulties due to the deterioration of the regional situation. However, they insisted that the solution must be diplomatic.
The Pakistani government emphasized that technical talks are necessary to avoid new incidents and reduce the risk of a major confrontation in the Middle East.
The tension between the United States and Iran has also raised international concern over its possible effects on regional security, maritime transit in the Gulf, and the global economy.
