The new Lenovo Legion Pro 7 Gen 10 has just arrived in Chilean stores, a device promising superior performance for demanding gamers.
The brand renews its design and updates its components by including AMD Ryzen 9 processors and Nvidia RTX 50 series graphics cards.
It is a fast machine capable of running any modern and AAA title smoothly. The main obstacle of this model is its prohibitive price compared to competition that offers similar results for less money.
Visually, Lenovo applies obvious changes compared to the previous generation. The connection ports leave the back and are now located on both sides. This decision improves accessibility for connecting peripherals and leaves the rear area exclusively for a redesigned cooling system that includes an RGB light outline.
The chassis is mostly plastic. In a computer of this level, which far exceeds the three-thousand-dollar barrier, that choice of materials is deficient.
Only the top cover offers a metal finish with the logo located in the center.
The screen is one of its highlights. The 16-inch OLED panel operates at 240Hz with a 1600p resolution.
It delivers intense colors and deep contrast, precise features for video games and multimedia content creation.
The downside is its glossy finish, which reflects ambient light and requires adjusting the room lighting to avoid distractions during gameplay.
Inside, the device hides top-of-the-line hardware. The tested version combines the RTX 5080 card with 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage.
In practice, the system achieves high refresh rates and maintains frames per second in triple-A games with maximum settings. Vapor chamber cooling does its job to keep heat at bay during long sessions and allows pushing both the processor and the graphics card at the same time.
The drawback arises in direct comparison, as the raw numbers in performance tests place it below more affordable options like another heavyweight, the Asus ROG Strix Scar 16.
The Lenovo Legion Pro 7 Gen 10 fulfills its goal of being a powerful and functional computer. Its battery lasts more than seven hours in video playback and its keyboard is quite comfortable, a minimum for this price range.
It is an excellent device if evaluated in isolation. In the current market context, its high entry cost and plastic construction reduce its appeal compared to alternatives that deliver the same power for a lower price.
