Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski predicted this Thursday the possibility that negotiations with Russia could resume before autumn, with the mediation of the United States, according to the conversation he had the day before with the special envoys of US President Donald Trump.

“I believe there will then be a trilateral meeting (…) We must have all this ready by autumn. I believe we must work intensively on it,” he explained at a press conference in Kyiv with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin.
“If it were up to us, it would be in July. But not everything depends on us,” noted the Ukrainian president, who the day before spoke with Trump’s envoys, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, who are scheduled to visit Moscow.
Zelenski has also warned that before autumn, Ukrainian authorities also expect Russian President Vladimir Putin not only to intensify attacks but also to announce a new massive mobilization. “He is preparing to expand the war,” he warned, according to Ukrinform agency.
“There has not been a single day when the Russian Army did not attack our civilians. That says a lot about who we are fighting against and what we are defending,” said the Ukrainian leader, who took the opportunity to thank Ukraine’s European partners for this latest agreement to launch what is already the 21st package of sanctions against Russia.
“I thank all the leaders and all the countries of Europe for this support (…) We will collaborate with other partners outside the European Union so that they also include these new sanctions in their legal systems. The synchronization of sanctions is of utmost importance,” remarked the President of Ukraine.
