At least twelve dead and dozens injured in one of Ukraine's deadliest attacks against Russia

Russian authorities have reported the death of twelve people, as well as dozens injured, as a result of an attack by Ukrainian forces on the city of Nizhnekamsk, located in the Republic of Tatarstan, in one of the deadliest attacks in recent times on Russian territory.

The Government of Tatarstan has confirmed the death of twelve people, while another 39 have been injured in this drone attack which targeted industrial and civilian facilities. The city of Nizhnekamsk is home to one of the largest oil refineries and petrochemical plants in Europe.

There are two companies specialized in the processing of oil and gas condensate which have not been targeted for the first time by Ukrainian attacks during this war, which has now lasted more than four and a half years.

The governor of the province, Rustam Minnikhanov, has declared a day of mourning for the victims of this new offensive by Ukrainian forces, which is part of the policy of long-range attacks against energy facilities and refineries that has been launched in recent months.
