The authorities of Colombia have again lowered this Sunday to 287 the death toll from the earthquake that shook the northwest of the country last Monday, as well as raising to 4,147 the number of injured people, compared to the figure of 289 deaths and 3,937 injured given in the previous report.
The National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) confirmed this report, which also revises upward the number of people reported missing from 143 to 194.
Likewise, there was a “considerable increase” in the damage toll following new reports issued by the department of Tolima, in the center-west of the country, and due to the inclusion of more municipalities in the data consolidation.
Thus, the UNGRD, which estimates 472 affected municipalities and 185,996 people affected by the devastating earthquake, confirmed that there are 127,608 damaged homes, 26,392 destroyed and 197 collapsed buildings.

Added to this are 304 health centers, 3,207 educational centers, 4,059 community centers, 410 roads, 95 aqueducts, 48 vehicular bridges, thirteen pedestrian bridges, and five affected airports.
For its part, the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences identified a total of 288 of the 298 bodies received, including 21 minors.
