According to CBS, although the state alert for New York has already expired, smoke continues to arrive in large quantities in the area, also affecting the nearby county of Suffolk on Long Island.
“Health authorities continue to recommend limiting time outdoors as much as possible. People with asthma, heart or lung disease, older adults, and children should exercise extreme caution,” the publication highlights.
