The Government of Iran has once again accused the United States this Monday of “violating the ceasefire” with its latest attacks against the country and has emphasized that the main obstacle to signing a peace agreement with Washington is Israel and its bombings against Lebanon, intensified in recent days, in which Israeli troops have also advanced in their territorial invasion of the country.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baqaei, highlighted in a press conference that the latest Israeli attacks are “a violation of the ceasefire that increases legitimate suspicions around the behavior of the United States and reveal Washington’s misconduct errors.”
“The actions of the United States are not only a violation of the ceasefire, but an aggression and a violation (…) of the United Nations Charter,” he said, before stressing that “this aggression allows Iran, within its right to self-defense, to adopt reciprocal defensive measures.”
“Today we have clearly announced that we have attacked the source of the aggression,” he maintained, after the Revolutionary Guard claimed to have attacked the “American base” origin of the attacks, without further details. Kuwait, for its part, has stated it responded to an attack with missiles and drones.
On the other hand, Baqaei denounced that Israel continues its attacks against Lebanon despite the ceasefire agreed in April and lamented that “the United Nations is not acting and is merely a spectator.” “These conditions will have consequences not only for the region but also for the world,” he explained.

“Appeasement in the face of genocide is having effects on peace and security at the regional and global level, so the international community is obliged to fulfill its responsibilities,” he argued, as reported by the Iranian public television network, IRIB.
In this way, he emphasized that “the main reason for the failure to reach an agreement in the region is the Zionist regime and its attacks against Lebanon,” which he described as “an attempt to prevent an improvement of the situation.” “The United States is also responsible, as every action of the Zionist regime is the responsibility of the United States, which supports it,” he concluded.
For his part, the President of the Iranian Parliament, Mohamed Baqer Qalibaf, highlighted that “the naval blockade and the increase in war crimes in Lebanon by the genocidal Zionist regime are clear proof of the United States’ violations of the ceasefire.”
“Every choice has a price, and the bills will come. Everything will fall into place,” Qalibaf stated, who is also one of the main Iranian negotiators, in a brief message published through social networks.
