Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claimed on Tuesday a new attack against United States military facilities in Jordan as part of its response to recent US bombings against the country, after which Amman merely reported the interception of three missiles and five Iranian drones in its airspace, with no casualties or damage.

Thus, the organization stated that, as part of an operation to “complete a black night for enemy radars to pave the way for new missile and drone attacks,” it launched an attack against “a defensive radar system” in Jordanian territory, in which an F-15 would also have been destroyed.
“This region is no place for American aggressors,” it said, according to Iranian state television IRIB. “The infanticidal American Army must leave our region to avoid further casualties,” the Iranian Revolutionary Guard stressed.
For its part, the Jordanian Army announced the “efficient and precise neutralization” of “five drones launched from Iran” and assured that these operations “have not caused human casualties or material damage.” Furthermore, it emphasized in a statement that it will continue to monitor the airspace to “deal with any aerial object that poses a threat.”

After that, it confirmed the subsequent downing of “three Iranian missiles targeting Jordanian territory” and highlighted that the interceptions also left no dead or material damage, with experts already deployed in the area to deactivate possible explosives among the remains.
Iran’s attack came after the United States confirmed over the weekend the death of two soldiers in an attack on an air base in Jordan, an incident that resulted in a third missing person. “Unidentified remains” that could belong to this person have been found at the site, although there is no official confirmation.
The United States has been launching attacks against Iran for several days, alleging violations of the memorandum of understanding, something rejected by Tehran, which has denounced ceasefire violations and responded with attacks against US interests in the region, raising fears of a collapse of peace agreement negotiations.
