The Government of Iran has assured this Friday that returning to the diplomatic path with the United States to achieve a definitive peace agreement in the Middle East “is not impossible,” although it has reiterated that “pressure does not work,” after Washington launched a campaign of “economic war” against Tehran in recent days.

“Resuming the course of diplomacy is not impossible,” said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, who highlighted through a message published on social media that “it depends on the United States understanding a simple fact: pressure does not work.”
“The United States must build trust, speak with respect, recognize our rights, and fulfill our commitments,” stated the head of Iranian diplomacy, who also praised the “creative discussions” he held on Thursday with his Qatari counterpart, Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al Thani, to address the situation.
On the other hand, the United States Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, reiterated this same Friday that “the blockade and the ‘Economic Marginalization’ operation – referring to the campaign to isolate the Iranian economy – will crush the failed Iranian economy.”

“The United States has guided 130 million barrels out (of the Strait of Hormuz) during the last fourteen days. Iran, zero,” he stated on social media, referring to the maritime blockade imposed by Washington on this strategic route and the data recently provided by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) about these operations.
The United States, through Bessent, announced on Monday a commercial offensive to cut off all sources of funding for Iran, even threatening sanctions against all countries that maintain trade ties with the Asian country, including China, to achieve total isolation of the Iranian economy.
This step by Washington also comes after the 60-day deadline given by Washington and Tehran to reach a global agreement to end the open conflict following the US-Israeli offensive launched on February 28 ended, although the parties have not managed to close a pact, with fears of a possible outbreak of a new large-scale conflict.
