The President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda, stated this Wednesday that Russia is preparing attacks against infrastructure in Poland and the Baltic countries, referring to information he said he has from Intelligence services.

In an interview with the BNS agency, the Lithuanian leader pointed out that Intelligence information indicates that Russia would be planning selective attacks against critical infrastructure in Poland or in the Baltic States.
“We have received this type of signals from our Intelligence services. They do not specify a particular place or time because that is simply impossible to determine. It is possible that the other side has not even completed its planning process, and that we only know of the existence of that planning or the objective it pursues,” he said.
In any case, Nauseda pointed out that he refers to “kinetic operations, not large scale, but selective,” adding that most likely these actions “will be directed against critical infrastructure.”
The Baltic leader emphasized in any case that Vilnius is preparing for a wide range of possible attacks that could disrupt the operation of key infrastructure. “Anything that can prevent the operation of these facilities is important, as they are not only important in themselves, but also because they guarantee the operation of the entire system, particularly our synchronization with the continental European power grid,” he added.
This type of warning message has been issued from various European countries and in recent years Poland has attributed incidents and sabotage such as the one that affected its railway network at the end of 2025. Then Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Russia had “crossed a certain line” with these actions and referred to the incidents as “state terrorism.”
