The authorities of Colombia raised this Thursday to more than 280 dead and 3,970 injured the victims of the 7.4 magnitude earthquake, on the Richter scale, that shook the northwest of the Latin American country last Monday.

Specifically, 281 people lost their lives and 3,971 were injured, while there are still 379 missing, according to the latest report from the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD), which adds that so far the number of rescued amounts to 348.
This earthquake, with an epicenter five kilometers from the town of San José del Palmar, in the department of Chocó, also leaves a toll of 102,105 affected people and 44,936 displaced families.

In this regard, the UNGRD estimated 65,841 affected homes, 10,677 destroyed, and 127 collapsed buildings. Added to this are damages to five airports, 12 pedestrian bridges, 34 vehicular bridges, 198 roads, 236 health centers, and 2,136 educational centers.
So far, of the 250 bodies received by the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, 228 have been identified, of which 13 are minors.
