The president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, has estimated that 60,000 migrants have entered the Spanish autonomous city from Morocco due to the migration crisis triggered this Thursday.
“It is impossible to handle this situation,” he said at a press conference after meeting with the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez.
Sources from the Spanish Ministry of the Interior estimate that about 25,000 had voluntarily returned to Morocco by Friday noon.

Meanwhile, the Government Delegation in Ceuta has confirmed an updated count of 41 bodies found since the start of the massive entry of immigrants from Morocco to the autonomous city.
The new findings add to the 30 dead found until Wednesday so far this year. Now there are 71, according to data handled by Europa Press, the immigrants found on the Ceuta coasts who drowned trying to cross from Morocco.
