Turkey issued an international arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as part of an investigation into Israel’s interception of a humanitarian aid flotilla bound for Gaza in May and the detention of hundreds of activists on board, Justice Minister Akin Gurlek announced on Friday.

“As part of this case, and pursuant to the arrest warrants issued on July 14, 2026 against Benjamin Netanyahu and Afek Moskovitch for the crime of genocide, the Ministry of Interior has been requested to issue an international red notice for their search and capture, and the relevant documentation has been sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” the acting minister declared in a message posted on his social media.
“Benjamin Netanyahu and Afek Moskovitch are being tried on charges of crimes against humanity, genocide,” unlawful deprivation of liberty, intentional injury, torture, property damage, qualified looting, and hijacking of transport vehicles in connection with the armed intervention against civilians delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza in international waters and the detention of activists,” he added.

Ankara had already issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and other senior officials for “genocide” in connection with the devastating Israeli military campaign in Gaza.
