The Berlin LGBTQ+ Pride parade was suspended this Saturday after a car ran over several people near the celebrations held in the center of the German capital.

According to the Berlin Police, the incident occurred in Tiergarten park, located near the Brandenburg Gate, where the vehicle struck multiple people during the afternoon.
Police teams and emergency services moved to the scene to attend to those affected. So far, authorities have not specified the total number of injured or the severity of their injuries.
“We are intensely searching for the suspects,” the German police reported via a post on the social network X, without providing further details about the vehicle, its occupants, or the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following the incident, authorities ordered an end to the activities and asked attendees to leave the area. Hundreds of thousands of people had gathered during the day to participate in Christopher Street Day, considered one of Europe’s most massive Pride events.
The causes of the hit-and-run are still under investigation, and for now, authorities have not reported whether it was an intentional act or an accident.
