The president of France, Emmanuel Macron, announced this Saturday the sending of new “interceptor” missiles to Ukraine to provide that country with weaponry to defend itself against Russian offensives.

After speaking with his Ukrainian counterpart, Macron stated through X that “it is essential that all countries that have means also join this effort” of support. This is due to the shortage of interceptors for ballistic missiles that are constantly exchanged with Russia.
Macron’s announcement comes one day after the Russian drone attack on a shopping center in the city of Krivi Rig, which left at least 16 dead and more than a hundred injured.
Alert sirens sounded again this Saturday in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, due to a ballistic missile offensive from Russia.
Four and a half years after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, long-range attacks have multiplied on both sides of the front, as have attacks on civilian facilities.
The Ukrainian army estimated that Russia launched more than 450 missiles of various types against Ukraine in July, of which about 200 were ballistic missiles.
