US President, Donald Trump, confirmed this Friday that special envoy Steve Witkoff and the White House advisor and son-in-law of the Republican magnate, Jared Kushner, will deliver a proposal to Russia to end the war in Ukraine during a visit to Moscow.
“They will carry a proposal to end the war. I have ended eight wars (…) I have not received any recognition for it. I have ended eight wars. Have I received the Nobel Prize? No, although the person who won it was kind enough to give it to me,” he said from the White House, referring to the Venezuelan opposition figure María Corina Machado, who received the award.
Likewise, Trump stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, “hate each other” and the differences between them are related to a “personality” problem.
“Do you know what hate is? They feel a deep hatred and that is getting in the way”, he assured.
The Republican leader also pointed out that “it is very likely” that there will be progress in the negotiations, something that contrasts with the words of Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who said that, “for the moment,” there are no concrete conditions” to stop the war.

“Work continues and contacts continue,” said the Russian spokesman about the possibilities of reaching an agreement with Kiev.
Trump’s envoys are also expected to travel to Ukraine after passing through Moscow.
In response, Zelensky urged that the meeting have “substantive content” and highlighted the importance of Washington continuing to participate “actively” in diplomatic contacts to end the war, ordered by Putin in February 2022.
The Russian state news agency TASS reported that Witkoff and Kushner were expected to arrive in Moscow and then Kiev between September 5 and 6, citing a government source.
