Russia and Ukraine exchanged new attacks during the early hours of this Sunday, although they kept Kiev and Moscow out of the offensives, amid the visit of the US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to try to unblock the peace negotiations.

The 72-hour truce agreed upon only covers the respective capitals, so bombings have continued in other areas of both countries.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 108 drones against Ukraine during the night. The air defenses managed to shoot down or neutralize 82 of them, while impacts were recorded in 11 points of the territory.
One of the attacks hit the city of Zaporiyia, where a 74-year-old man died and three other people — two women and one man — were injured.
The State Emergency Service also reported fires in residential buildings and other properties. Emergency teams evacuated 16 people from one of the affected buildings.
During the previous night, another Russian attack had also left three members of the same family dead in Chuhuiv, in the Kharkiv region.
For its part, Ukraine resumed massive attacks against Russian territory this Sunday after the talks that Witkoff and Kushner held in Moscow with President Vladimir Putin.
The Russian Ministry of Defense assured that its air defense systems shot down 258 Ukrainian drones during the night, five times more than the previous day.
The attacks reached, according to Moscow, 14 Russian regions, in addition to the Crimean peninsula and sectors of the Black and Azov seas.
One of the episodes occurred in the Ryazan region, less than 200 kilometers from Moscow, where drones caused a fire at a refinery of the oil company Rosneft, according to reports collected by local media. The regional governor, Pavel Malkov, confirmed a fire at a company, although he did not specify which one.
In the Rostov region, meanwhile, fragments of a drone hit the locomotive of a train, which forced the temporary suspension of seven passenger services.
The new attacks occur while Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are scheduled to arrive this Sunday in Kiev for their first visit to the Ukrainian capital.
Both envoys will meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, after having held talks in Moscow with Putin.
