The Armed Forces of the United States and South Korea have carried out this Wednesday their largest joint military and logistical maneuvers in history on the Korean Peninsula, which will come to an end this Thursday.

The Combined Forces Command (CFC) of South Korea and the United States has announced that from the 13th to the 16th of July, the parties are conducting their Combined Joint Support Training (CJST) near the city of Pohang, in North Gyeongsang Province, as well as in Hongcheon County, Gangwon Province.
The CJST aims to strengthen the capability to sustain military operations in case of a contingency on the Korean Peninsula, according to the command itself, which has indicated that the maneuvers feature a record number of participants and mobilized equipment.
In total, it involves the participation of 4,400 people, 2,400 of whom are South Koreans and 2,000 Americans, as well as 600 pieces of equipment, including military ships and aircraft, according to information gathered by the Yonhap news agency.

During the ongoing maneuvers, an operational compatibility check was carried out during a joint landing drill, as well as medical assistance and casualty evacuation maneuvers using special South Korean medical helicopters KUH-1M and American C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.
These maneuvers, which have been conducted since 2017, are part of a series of activities designed to train troops in the efficient distribution of military logistics, including personnel, fuel, and equipment, to combat units.
