Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, accused on Tuesday the Israeli authorities of actively sabotaging diplomatic efforts to reach an agreement that would end the offensive launched alongside the United States against the Asian country and the consequences arising from the conflict in the Middle East.

Araqchi, who pointed out that Israel is the “main obstacle to achieving lasting peace with the United States,” emphasized that the “Zionist regime was and remains the biggest opponent of the memorandum of understanding” reached between the parties, which set a 60-day deadline to negotiate peace.
“They do everything possible to prevent this agreement from being reached, they seek its failure and that the agreed measures are not implemented,” the minister asserted, according to information gathered by the IRNA news agency.
However, he highlighted that the demands of U.S. President Donald Trump to achieve Iran’s “unconditional surrender” “have failed,” especially since Tehran agreed to negotiate and accept a ceasefire. “Those who sought such a surrender begged for negotiations as soon as the war began,” he stressed.
“We were the ones who said we would not accept a truce until they accepted a ceasefire and negotiations according to Iranian terms,” he concluded.
These statements come now that the 60-day deadline given by the United States and Iran to reach an agreement to end the war in the Middle East has ended, which was also supposed to include measures to control Iran’s nuclear program.
