The Iranian Revolutionary Guard claimed this Friday responsibility for an attack against a major United States military base in Qatar and stated that it destroyed “several strategic refueling aircraft,” although Qatari or U.S. authorities have not yet confirmed damage to the facilities.
Thus, it indicated that the attacks, launched in response to “the recent U.S. crimes,” were launched “by surprise” against the Al Udeid base to “punish the aggressor and the infanticidal United States Army,” according to the Iranian public television network, IRIB.
“During this attack, the long-range radar system and several strategic refueling aircraft were completely destroyed, while several more suffered serious damage,” it stated, before adding that “the United States Army and those hosting its bases in the region must know that crossing red lines and attacking the population and infrastructure (in Iran) will have very serious consequences.”
In this regard, it warned that “if the enemy continues with this trend, there will be more crushing responses.” “They will be responses that will remain in the history books about battles,” it concluded, amid the exchanges of attacks in recent days despite the ceasefire agreed in April and the memorandum of understanding signed in June.

Hours earlier, the Qatari Ministry of Interior had reported that a child was injured by shrapnel due to interception operations of the Iranian attack, without details on the number of missiles or drones launched against the country.
The United States has been launching attacks against Iran for several days alleging violations of the memorandum of understanding, something rejected by Tehran, which has denounced ceasefire violations and responded with attacks against U.S. interests in the region, raising fears of a collapse of negotiations for a peace agreement.
