The Israel Police announced this Sunday that it will deliver a report to the families of the victims of its investigations regarding the attacks by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which began on October 7, 2023 and included more than a thousand deaths and the taking of hostages after penetrating Israeli territory.
“With deep commitment to the families of the victims and to commemorate the heroism of the fallen police officers, tomorrow (Monday) we begin a new stage of the process, during which the investigations will be presented to the families,” the institution announced in a statement.
The statement also affirms that they consider the occasion as “a crucial step that allows us to convey the heroism and actions of their loved ones.”
The Police thus opens a new phase of a process that, after a year of collection, documentation, and analysis, already delivered last week to the very “fighters who participated in the confrontations” the report with the same findings.
The above “with the aim of providing them with a complete view of the battles,” at a moment defined by the body as “of great significance for them.”
However, the investigations have not yet been completed, with “broader investigations that deeply analyze the activities of all divisions and districts related to the events of October 7” still pending.
“Once concluded, we will continue implementing the conclusions, strengthening the competence and operational capacity of the police, and working to reinforce coordination with other security agencies, in fulfillment of our responsibility to ensure public safety,” the note emphasized.
Israeli authorities thus reported the current status of the investigations developed around the attacks of October 7, 2023, which left, according to official figures, about 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped.
After the attacks, the Israeli Army unleashed a bloody offensive against Gaza that as of this Saturday totals more than 73,200 fatalities and 173,000 injured, including the 1,100 dead and 3,546 wounded since the theoretical ceasefire agreed upon in October 2025, as denounced by Gaza authorities.
