The capture in the city of Morelia was the result of a joint operation involving the Michoacán State Attorney General’s Office, the state Public Security Secretariats, National Defense, Navy (SEMAR), and Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), and the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR).

According to the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection of Mexico, Omar García Harfuch, “El Señor de la T” carried out criminal activities in the Michoacán Bajío area, particularly in the municipalities of Angamacutiro, Penjamillo, Panindícuaro, José Sixto Verduzco, and Puruándiro.

Likewise, security sources consulted by the newspaper El Milenio also pointed to a possible link of the detainee with the murder of the trustee of Penjamillo, Roberto Ramírez Zárate, and with the disappearance of a former municipal president of Angamacutiro, Maribel Juárez Blanquet.

After his arrest, Manuel Alejandro “N” was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor to continue with the corresponding procedure.

García explained that the capture is part of the National Strategy against Extortion and assured that the authorities will maintain actions aimed at weakening the criminal groups that pose a threat to families and productive sectors of Michoacán.

A few hours later, the Secretary of Security announced other arrests linked to the investigations carried out after the capture of Manuel Alejandro “N”.

In a social media post, the official reported an operation carried out in Guadalajara, in the state of Jalisco, in which Mario “N”, alias “El Fiera”, and Juvenal “N”, alias “El Coreano” were arrested.

Both had arrest warrants for crimes of aggravated extortion, homicide, and criminal organization. According to the authorities, the organization to which they belonged carried out “extortion communications” directed at 77 entities in the meat sector, using Internet platforms to hinder their location.

Ongoing intelligence and investigation work allowed locating the two suspects and executing the arrest warrants against them, raising to eight the number of members of that criminal organization operating in Tabasco.
